Cindy Zahrte, Tomah School Superintendent, explained the Tomah Public Schools 2018 budget.  Real estate taxes are about the same as previous year.  School district no longer has a mortgage. After the 3-year special referendum, the school district will have to do another referendum unless state approves more aid to school districts.

Chairman Chuck Huffman called the town meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of November board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the financial report. A discussion was held on the balance of road expenses that need to be paid to qualify for the maximum state highway aid. Real Estate Tax bills have been sent out. Supervisor Dan Draeger moved and Supervisor Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit.  Motion passed.

Larry Johnson gave the road report.  Snow plowing has started.  Some road signs are missing and Azalea Road sign on old County Highway EE is still not up yet.  County is supposed to install sign.

For public input Nodji Van Wychen reported that the Monroe County Highway Department compromised 2.3 acres of wetlands when they redid County Highway EW in 2016.  County also has an assessment on the balance of CTH EW that will be done in 2018.  County will also do 800-foot section of CTH EW that is in the Village of Warrens.  The CTH EW project should be completed by September 1, 2018.
