The Town of Scott held its February board meeting on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen.  Board members present were Chuck Huffman, Dan Draeger, Henry Van Wychen and Jim Van Wychen.  Others present were: Lorry Erickson, Nodji Van Wychen, Jack Potter and Willie Johnson.

Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the January board meeting. Minutes approved as read. Treasurer Paul Shepherd was absent, but the treasurer’s report that Paul e-mailed was reviewed. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit.

Bills were reviewed to see how much of gravel and trucking bills we could pay at this time.  We decided to pay for the balance of the gravel and a portion of the trucking bill. Balance of trucking will be paid when we get our next highway aids payment. Willie Johnson will plow out town hall for election on Feb. 20.  Potholes on Copper Road need to be patched where the tubes were replaced last summer. Willie will get them patched.

County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen discussed the status of the County Highway EW road project. A total of 2.5 acres of wetlands will be disturbed when EW is redone from Auger Road to Warrens. County should be able to get permit to do work this summer. The 2.3 acres that was disturbed on the previous section may have to mitigated.

The board discussed Jim Frei’s property. Nothing has been done to raze property. Henry Van Wychen moved and Dan Draeger seconded a motion to have the town clerk send a letter to Jim Frei requesting him to have building razed by June 1, 2018. Motion passed.

Eastern Monroe has a new DNR warden, Pat Siebert. Survey of invasive weeds will have to be done on town roads before we start mowing this summer.

March 23 is the district Wisconsin Towns Association meeting in Tomah. Dan Draeger and Henry Van Wychen will attend the Board of Review training.

The next meeting is set for Monday, March 12, 2018, at 5 p.m., at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road.

Spring general election will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018.

Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn February board meeting.  Motion passed.
