FEBRUARY 2016 TOWN OF SCOTT BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The Town of Scott held its February board meeting on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen. All board members present. Chairman Chuck Huffman called the meeting to order and Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of January 2015 board meeting. Minutes approved as read.

Cindy Zarhte, Tomah School Superintendent, and Gary Grovesteen, Tomah school board member, presented an explanation of the Tomah School District referendum that is on the April 5 ballot.

Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. All property tax collections have been settled with county. Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to approve treasurer’s report and file for audit. Motion passed.

Willie Johnson gave the road report. Snowplowing season should be ending.  Discussed buying gravel for the widening of the Copper Road section from State Highway 173 to Buckley Avenue. Town board will look into bids on clearing out the trees in the right of way. Chuck Huffman will check to see how wide we can clear out the road right of way.

Chuck will attend the Wisconsin Towns Association meeting in Tomah on Friday March 18.  He will take the board of review training.

Spring general election is April 5, 2016.

The next Town of Scott board meeting will be on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 6 p.m. at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen.

Dan Draeger moved and Henry Van Wychen seconded a motion to adjourn February board meeting. Motion passed.
