The Town of Scott held its March board meeting on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 5 PM, at the home of Town Clerk Jim Van Wychen, 3365 Auger Road, Warrens. All board members present along with Larry Johnson, Mary Shepherd and Nodji Van Wychen.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Henry Van Wychen. Clerk Jim Van Wychen read the minutes of the February 2024 board meeting. One correction was made. The town will use the Monroe County Highway Department to inventory the town culverts that are 6 feet to 20 feet.

Treasurer Paul Shepherd gave the treasurer’s report. A discussion was held on the American Rescue Plan Funds. Plans are to do work on the town hall including a new wheel chair ramp and steps at the entrances. We will have the roof inspected to see if needs to be repaired. The fire contract with the Town of Lincoln Fire District still needs to be paid. Supervisor Kade Gnewikow moved and Supervisor David Potter seconded a motion to accept treasurer’s report and file for audit.  Motion passed.

Town Patrolman Larry Johnson gave the town road report. Brush has been mowed along the town roads on eastern side of the township. The gravel portion of Copper Road needs several loads of gravel to fix rough areas. Several spots on Copper Road need some blacktop to patch on shoulders. We still have not heard from Meadow Valley Wildlife Area officials to see how much we can clean up along west side of Copper Road that borders Dead Creek. David Potter moved and Kade Gnewikow seconded motion to accept patrolman’s report.

For public input County Board Supervisor Nodji Van Wychen mentioned there will only be one county Clean Sweep program this year. It will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Ridgeville landfill site.

Jim Van Wychen got certified for the 2024 Board of Review.

A discussion was held on the Agricultural Road Improvement Program. Copper Road from County EW to State Hwy 173 would qualify. We are working on getting information and estimates to file for the program.  A discussion was also held on the Maintenance of Effort which is required the Township to receive all of County and Municipal Aid.
